I'm not Leonard ( Bones ) McCoy, I'm not a doctor from the future, and shockingly I'm not perfect. This post helps me be a little closer to perfect though, just as long as you use it to give me crit when I maybe do something wrong. Or you know, it's also a place where you can tell me I'm doing well and I can look back on it when I'm having a bad day. It's handy like that. Anyway, anon is on, comments are screened and IP logging is off. Hit me with your best shot. ♥

"I'm not here to talk to you right now, leave a message, I'll get back to you soon. I'm not rude enough to leave you hanging for too long."

Leonard McCoy (32)
Doctor with the steadiest hands this side of the galaxy. Been told I could use a little help on the bedside manners. I never have liked these sorts of things. Don't fall for me too hard and I promise I'll do the same.

CHARACTER INFORMATION

NAME: Leonard "Bones" McCoy
CANON: Star Trek
AGE: 32-ish
CANON POINT: Post Into The Darkness

BACKGROUND: Alternate realities are the worst.
INCENTIVE: There's actually a number of things Bones would consider as far as incentives go, but seeing as a few of them step on other people's consent— for example, making sure Khan never wakes up again— the easiest and best one Bones could probably think of would be the reps ensuring that nothing bad would happen on the five year mission. As the ship's doctor, obviously some bad things could happen and Bones would be a-okay with them, but considering how there was the destruction of Vulcan in the first movie, and the mess that happened on Earth and then the whole Khan thing in the second movie, Bones would like a little help in making sure a huge disaster doesn't happen every single time they even breathe up in space.

So, basically, all Bones would ask for is them making it so nothing too disastrous happens during the five year mission. The Enterprise crew and him have had enough of those horrors to last at least five years or a lifetime. But he'll take five years to start.
FIT: Bones has been married before, and thus has likely had sex before. Beyond that in Into the Darkness we see him flirting with Carol Marcus as they try and dissemble a missle. Needless to say, he knows his way around the block so to speak. I will admit that there are some potential intimacy issues in the form of getting into say a truly intense committed relationship because of his divorce, but considering he was flirting with Carol pretty easily, it's not debilitating.
CONSENT: The only times Bones has ever broken someone else's consent is when it came to treating them in a life or death situation. In those cases, he feels like it's valid to perhaps go against what they might want or valid to just treat them when they're not— able to consent because they're perhaps knocked out or bleeding out. As far as sex goes, however, he's never broken consent and wouldn't break it under any circumstances.

SAMPLES: He thinks they're people from Starfleet he just hasn't met before when he runs into the reps. After all, why else would they be wanting to talk with him and refer to him as Leonard. Then again, maybe the use of his name and not his rank should have given him a clue that they weren't Starfleet. It takes him a minute to decide that it was okay to follow them into a room to discuss what they want to discuss with him and in that minute he almost tells them that he's got more important things to do since he's a doctor. However, Kirk's okay and it's not pressing for him to be around right at that second.

"You're kidding me," he comments when they're done explaining what they're asking him to do. "I've seen some weird things, but what you're suggesting has got to be a joke."

They laugh and his lips purse a little before they stop laughing and shake their head. They're being honest, all the has to do is engage in intimacy— something he can do— and whatever he wants can be done for him. He thinks it's magic and too good to be true but there's a part of him that wants to believe.

"You swear no time is going to pass here while I'm there? That I just go, do what you're asking me and then get back with what I want like nothing happened. Because I can't even consider if I can't be here to help them." Bones asks for clarification. The idea of leaving the crew alone to fend for themselves— not that he doesn't have faith in the rest of medical— isn't one he likes to entertain, but if that won't happen then it might be worth a shot.

"Yes, Dr. McCoy. We swear." The reps answer with a nod and a bit of a shrug. "You'd be returned to the time we take you from."

There's only one thing— well actually there's several things he wants in life— but there's only one thing he can really think of as being something he'd want as an incentive to go do what they're asking for. A simple guarantee that any ship doctor would want.

"I want the Enterprise and it's crew to be protected in our five year mission. I can handle the small things but after Khan and Nero, I'd like to know we're not heading into another disaster. I'll go with you if you can guarantee that."

The reps just grin and Bones ends up— slightly regretting his agreement before remembering it's for a good cause and it's not the worst thing he's ever done. Hell, it might even be fun.
ANYTHING ELSE? If it's alright, I'd really like it if he could come in with his tricorder and a hypospray. Just because I think I'm hilarious.
